Raised in the Colorado moutains, Zane wears shorts and Chacos even in midst of the winter. He enjoys skiing powder, “wander” hiking, “creative” camping and is always up for an adventure. With a masters in counseling from Naropa University, Zane has a passion for LGBTQ communities and sexual health, and believes that ELEMENT is a perfect avenue to help create change in the world.

Grant grew up in Colorado, and attended the University of Colorado Boulder where they were engaged in the GSA and lead LGBT support groups. When not at work, they are working on a creative project, whether being part of a video production team or making clothes. Grant joined The Denver ELEMENT team because of their passion for LGBTQ health and community building.

A Colorado native, Christopher attends Metropolitan State University earning his bachelor's degree in Mental Health Counseling, and will start his graduate studies in the fall of 2019 for Social Work. He specializes in behavioral health case management and case management for individuals living with HIV. In his spare time you can find him listening to audiobooks or traveling to Disney!

Joe was raised in the plains of Nebraska, where he quietly bided his time until he could stage his escape out into the real world. Being from the Midwest, Joe describes himself as warm, approachable and down to earth. With a master’s degree in transpersonal counseling psychology from Naropa University, he one day hopes to get his PhD in positive psychology. Until then you can find him wrestling with his dog and watching reruns of Avatar the Last Air Bender or Charmed.

Born outside of San Francisco, Justin grew up by the beach but now calls the Mile High city home. He has spent his adult life in Denver, and received his masters in multicultural clinical mental health counseling at University of Colorado Denver. Justin is passionate about working with LGBTQIA+ folks, and is especially interested in the intersections of multiple marginalized identities. He enjoys rereading Harry Potter books, binge watching new Netflix series and cooking for friends.

Geoffrey has lived in Colorado since 2000. They attended the University of Colorado at Boulder where they received a degree in behavioral genetics. Geoffrey grew up wanting to be a Broadway Diva but found their place within LGBTQ+ activism, but it doesn’t stop them from singing and dancing at any time, any place.

A well-traveled Denver native and 30 year HIV long-term survivor, Robert has more than 20 years of HIV/AIDS experience in non-profit organizations, government programs, clinical trials and as a volunteer. Away from work, Robert enjoys photography and painting. He joined The Denver Element team to provide his life experience and Ryan White system of care knowledge and expertise.

A Colorado native raised in south Denver, Dan is a graduate of University of Northern Colorado with a bachelors in sociology. In his spare time he enjoys the gym and mountain activities including skiing and camping. Travel and experiencing different cultures have always been a big passion of his. He joined ELEMENT because he wants to make a difference by helping this community grow and become more cohesive.

He is currently working toward a bachelors degree in human services with a concentration in addiction studies at Metro State University. Cass was born and raised in Boulder, Colorado and spent four years at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor receiving his BA in History and Secondary Teaching. He quickly realized that he did not want to be a middle school social studies teacher and went back to school at the University of Denver where he received a Masters in social work. Cass is passionate about supporting and affirming the transgender and gender-expansive community. When he is not engaged in social justice activities, he enjoys spending time watching tv with his wife, daughter and labradoodle.

Kaitie grew up in a small mountain town in Colorado where they learned their values of community, connection and continued learning. In their undergraduate education,  Kaitie found their passion for working with youth in the mental health field and then pursued their master degree in multicultural clinical mental health counseling at University of Colorado Denver. Kaitie’s favorite part of their work is honoring each person’s unique story and exploring intersections of identities and cultures. Kaitie enjoys traveling, hiking, and trying new restaurants. Kaitie joined Denver ELEMENT to work within their own community and help queer youth be seen, empowered, and supported in their growth.

Born in the rural farmland of northeastern Maryland, Sarah moved to Colorado to pursue her Masters of Social Work and Animal-Assisted Social Work certification at the University of Denver in 2016. Sarah began her career in LGBTQ social justice as an undergraduate student, and found that her ultimate passion lies in providing support for LGBTQ youth. In her spare time, you can find Sarah in spin class, jetting off to San Diego to catch some rays, or watching Netflix at home with her service dog, Charlie. Sarah is thrilled to join the ELEMENT team to empower LGBTQ youth in Denver.

Originally from Austin, Texas, Cassidy received her undergraduate degree from California State University At Los Angeles in Psychology; a place she lived for ten years and also calls home. Now, Cassidy studies at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs where she plans to graduate in May of 2020. Cassidy is a proud mother and partner, she also enjoys yoga, walks on the beach, and being in good company. Cassidy works with addiction and wants to decrease the margins between majorities and minorities.

Guss escaped Oklahoma six years ago and has been living in Denver since. He studied philosophy and psychology at the University of Oklahoma and is finishing his master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling. He enjoys reading, napping with his cats and cooking for loved ones. He has plans of one day obtaining a Ph.D. in psychology but for now is content in working with the community. He has a career background in mental health and while he has worked with most populations, Guss is very passionate about working with gender variant populations.

Leahh is a Colorado native. She is currently an undergraduate student working on her bachelor’s at Metropolitan State University of Denver in Human Services with a concentration in Addiction Studies. Having gone through recovery herself, she feels very passionate about helping others overcome their addictions. Leahh is a self-admitted, “cat lady” and loves to hike, read, and build LEGOS in her free time.
